We're one of the Independent's 50 best beachwear pieces!

We were delighted to be featured in the Independent last month, with our vintage 1950's Kittiwake swimsuit (shown below) selected as one of their '50 Best Beachwear Pieces' for this summer.
A big thanks to the Independent for the mention!

The Kittiwake swimsuit is available on our website now (it's searching for a tiny waisted new owner!).
One of our favourite ever vintage swimsuits is also on Freudian Slips Vintage, the 1940's Rose Marie Reid printed floral swimsuit shown below, the print is exquisite!
We will be adding some more vintage swimwear pieces shortly, so watch this space!

vintage hats and fascinators update....

Our vintage hats department on Freudian Slips Vintage has been a little neglected of late, due to our focus on fabulous vintage dresses.

We've just added a quick update of gorgeous hats to the website, including some striking burlesque style veiled black velvet hats.

Queens of Vintage rocks!

We've been big fans of the Queens of Vintage website for a while now, if you've not discovered the site already it basically functions as an online vintage fashion/lifestyle magazine, with daily updates on topics such as good vintage buys, vintage hairstyling tips and DIY vintage customising - basically a must read!

Anyway, we were delighted when the Queens of Vintage recently mentioned the launch of our brand new private appointments service, read the article here.

We should also say a big belated thank you to the lovely Courtney Love for kindly allowing us to name her as one of our celebrity customers in recent press articles, (we never disclose any of our customers names without their prior permission of course!). We've been big fans of Courtney since way back, so we're delighted that she shops with us!

We've recently loaned vintage garments for some really exciting press shoots, so will keep you posted as soon as any features hit the shelves.

We've also just added some fabulous new vintage dresses (1940's and 1950's) and some burlesque styled vintage hats to Freudian Slips Vintage, and will be adding weekly updates througout June...

Our appointments service has launched!

Our long awaited studio appointments service has now launched, hurrah!

We are now taking bookings from the 21st of this month onwards, and we are already starting to book up on the most popular days, so do email or phone us to check availability, particularly if you have a specific date or event to plan for....

We'll be offering pre-booked one hour private appointments at our studio in North London, which are particularly useful if you are searching for the perfect vintage wedding dress or a gown for a special event, and would like to try on a selection of dresses.

All our website stock will be available to view, and we will also have a selection of pieces from our inventory, that haven't been photographed for the website etc.

Visit the 'appointments' page on Freudian Slips Vintage for all the information regarding the service.

Favourite Vintage Finds, 1940's harlequin print dress

As briefly mentioned in my previous post we've just got in a wonderful 1940's novelty print dress, with a particularly quirky print. The print seems to depict characters from a Venetian influenced masked ball, with harlequins, pierrot, jesters and ballerinas. The dress also bears the British utility label, so is a great example of the use of print to create a stunning dress, whilst still adhering to the utility restrictions.

The dress is currently available on Freudian Slips Vintage and would be perfect for summer occasions.

We're working on a large update of new stock, which we should start adding to the website in the next day or so, with some wonderful 1950's ballgowns, cocktail dresses and a few more 1940's gems!

Favourite Vintage Finds, 1960's Pierre Balmain suit....

I haven't posted a 'Favourite Vintage Find' in a while, but I think this vintage 1960's Pierre Balmain suit is certainly worthy of a post!

It's not particularly seasonally appropriate, but I think a Pierre Balmain suit is worth celebrating at any time of year! The suit is a knitted jacquard with a rich mix of metallic gold, rich red and black, woven in an ornate pattern, which reminds me of Russian or folkloric inspirations.

Just added to the Freudian Slips Vintage website, the suit is a great collector's piece or in fabulous ready to wear condition.

We'll have more updates next week, with some outstanding 1950's and 60's evening gowns and more news about our upcoming Private Appointments Service launch.
